BIOGRAPHY：

Benjamin Loyauté was born in France in 1979, and graduated in the History of Art from the Insitute of Art. He lectures regularly at many universities in France, such as the Sorbonne, and abroad as well. Specialist of 20th century decorative arts and design, he is an author, design historian, curator, museum adviser, artistic director and scenographer. He is certified in the history of design and cultural management.

In 2007, he co-curated the exhibition “Design contre Design” held at the Grand Palais in Paris, in charge of the contemporary section and research. He founded his agency Loya-b in 2006 and directed the film “Designer’s universe, a private visit in their own world,” the first film documentary on 16 famous contemporary designers. In 2010, he was chosen as a curator of the International Design Biennial in St. Etienne in France and curated the exhibition “Prédiction” in a space of over 2,500 square meters. In early 2011 he invited Martino Gamper to invest in famous architect Le Corbusier’s Church at Firminy (France) and conceptualized the exhibition “Rational Conversation.”

An author of numerous essays, he recently published “After Design.” Between 2001 and 2005, he was a design critic for the journal “Connaissance des Arts”, in which he published several articles about design. Since then he has written for other publications and journals such as Architectural Digest. Benjamin Loyauté also wrote “Pierre Cardin Evolution,” published by Flammarion in 2006 and the essay “Old is Back” in 2008. In 2010 he began working on a new concept called Reasemotion. He is also a consultant for museums and businesses worldwide.
