“Ren” is one of the most important concepts in Chinese tradition which could also perfectly convey the spirit of “Good Design”. At this stage, the developing China and its population need good design more than ever before.
Since March 2011 the BIDT website continued to update reports on curators, designers and works of the exhibition. Now it is a time to conclude and list all of the reports here, which will become a retrospective review of the highlights of the first BIDT.
This exhibition has ended, but the discussion about the exhibition still continues. For the general public, the First Beijing International Design Triennial involving all aspects of daily life is enlightenment for design.
Since the opening of the first BIDT on 28 September 2011, millions of people visited the exposition. Receiving praises constantly, it has aroused strong repercussions. This website will keep track of major media coverage of the exhibition.
It is said that during the National Day holiday, except two days that the museum was closed to the public, Beijing International Design Triennial accepted over 10 thousand visitors per day.

Series Symposium of the first Beijing International Design Triennial inaugurated in the morning of Sep 29, 2011 at the Great Hall of Tsinghua University. The Symposium is organized by the Zhuangshi journal, a famous design magazine in China.
In the evening of Sept 28, 2011, the CPC Central Committee, State Councilor Liu Yandong visited the First Beijing International Design Triennial which is holding at the National Museum of China.

After two years preparation, the first Beijing International Design Triennial grandly inaugurated at the National Museum of China in the evening of Sept 27, 2011.
For designers, the team's strength is especially important. In the first BIDT, a number of brothers or sisters team combination are the beautiful landscape in the first BIDT.
In the West Hall of the National Museum of China, the Italian curator Gilda Bojardi and her assistants are busy commanding the workers to build the most important two large-scale installations-----Vertical Home and Arcimboldo of the sub-theme exhibition "Creative Junction".
As the deputy director of the curatorial committee of the first BIDT and curator of the "Rethinking Bamboo", Hang Jian choose in particular the theme of the first BIDT as the title of his book.
In the first BIDT,Thailand designer Korakot Aromdee, brings his "ROSE SERIES" hanging,which shows the elegance and nobility of the Thai traditional arts and crafts,as well as fashion and simplicity of modern design.
The sub-theme exhibition “Creative Junctions” boasts the largest floor area in the first BIDT. Up in the air of the exhibition area there will be thousands of Ping Pang ball hanging from the ceiling, which symbols the Design Ping Pang between the east and west.
The sub-theme exhibition"Good Guys" of first BIDT is full of Irony, low-key and the mix of post-modern spirit,which shows the unique taste and self-critical sense of designers in the context of globalization.
In the light of a new concept REASEMOTION (reason+emotion) coined by himself, the French curator Benjamin Loyauté rethinks the relationship between symbolic (imaginary) value and use value in “good design”.
